The Marina Restaurant Izola has a long culinary tradition. Every seafood lover will enjoy in the specialities of its renowned Chef Ivica Evačić aka Ivek. He adapts his recipes to the changing seasons and everything is cooked to order – as Ivek never reheats food or uses artificial flavour enhancers on his dishes.

To be consistent with his motto “from the sea to the plate”, he relies on the resources of Mother Nature so do not be disappointed if you are not able to get your hands on certain ingredients – we rely only on nature’s gifts.

The restaurant also uses house or local cold pressed olive oil, which is the basis for the preparation of its culinary masterpieces.

Due to its professional approach, sustainable development and integration, as well as the discovery and preservation  of traditional gastronomy, the Marina Restaurant Izola is one of the most visited and popular restaurants on the Slovenian coast. Our efforts didn’t go unnoticed even by the Michelin Guide‘s team, who awarded us  with the Michelin recommendation five years in a row (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025).

Respect for food is its guiding principle, and the authentic flavours of Istrian and Mediterranean dishes convince even the most discerning guest.

Sustainable development

The sustainable development strategy of Marina Hotel contains both economic and social development, as well as environmental protection. In the area of the latter, we have established a system of waste separation, hazardous waste management, waste reduction, saving with natural resources (card systems, bike rental…), reducing the use of hazardous cleaning materials and chemicals, reducing the consumption of energy and water.

In the Hotel Marina restaurant we give priority to seasonal goods and local suppliers. All dishes are prepared according to the principle of fresh cuisine, enriched with olive oil with designation of origin from the Belvedere hill.

Particular attention is paid to selection of new suppliers: priority is given to locals and those who respect nature and care for the welfare of the environment.

“Kilometre Zero”

The Hotel Marina restaurant long time ago committed itself a long time ago to the action “kilometre zero”. From 2011 we guarantee superior quality for our guests, based on the supply of fresh ingredients of local providers.

Authenticity, culinary genius and freshness – three principles that domestic producers should take into account. Their farming is in accordance with European standards of organic or integrated production, enabling the use of seasonal ingredients in our recipes.
