Reservation policy

The reservation is made through online channels (booking.com, HRS, Expedia) or through direct inquiry (e-mail, website, telephone conversation). In any case, the guest undertakes to provide us with an active e-mail address or other contact information when submitting the reservation and authorizes us to use it for the purposes of notification and verification related to the reservation. If the user is not available by e-mail or phone or submits a wrong or an invalid e-mail address, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation.

Payment and cancellation 

Accommodation and additional services can be paid in cash (EUR) or with a valid credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Diners, Discover). In case of using additional services (Restaurant, Spa), the services must be paid on the spot (in cash at the reception / restaurant, or by credit card). If the guest wants to pay for the stay and services at check out, it is necessary to provide a valid credit card on arrival, on which we will make a reservation of funds in the amount of € 2,000.00.

Individual reservations (up to 5 rooms)
  1. option: “FREE cancellation – pay at the hotel”

This payment and cancellation option is available only for reservations of up to 5 rooms (individual reservations). Reservations, completed with this option, can be cancelled without any cancellation fees up to 72 hours before arrival.

In case of cancellation within 72 hours or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. Payment at the hotel (on the spot) is possible by credit card or with cash (EUR only). 

2. option: “Non-refundable”

Reservations completed with this option require full advance payment at the time of booking, no cancellations or changes are possible.

If the credit card information is incorrect or cannot be charged for some other reason, the hotel has the right to cancel the reservation. If the reservation includes the guest’s contact details, the hotel will inform the customer about this issue and ask for new credit card information.

Please note that if the guest cancels or modifies the reservation, or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

3. option: “Reservation with ADVANCE PAYMENT”

Hotel Marina reserves the right to request an advance payment when necessary (higher number of inquiries, higher season, etc.). The reservation in considered confirmed once the payment is processed.

If the guest cancels the reservation in writing (e-mail) within the agreed period, he is entitled to a refund of the full amount of the advance payment. In case the guest cancels the reservation AFTER the cancellation period, Hotel Marina keeps the paid amount. In this case the guest has the right to use the paid amount within one year and for any of the services offered by the hotel.

Early departure

If the guest leaves the hotel early and without prior notice (at least 3 days from the date of arrival), the hotel will charge 50% of the value of each unused night. The guest does not have to pay the city tax for the remaining nights.

Group reservations (more than 5 rooms)

Special payment and cancellation conditions apply for all reservations that consist of 5 or more rooms.

For reservations made more than 30 days prior arrival, a mandatory 30% deposit is requested after the reservation is made. This deposit is refundable for up to 30 days prior arrival, after which time it is non-refundable in the form of cancellation fee. Remaining 70% (or balance) payment must be settled at least 14 days prior arrival and is non-refundable.

For reservations made under 30 days prior arrival, immediate prepayment of the full amount is requested and is non-refundable.

An estimate for the advance payment and additional information will be sent to your e-mail address by our reservation department (recepcija@hotelmarina.si; Tel + 386 5 66 04 100). Prepayment is possible by bank transfer. If the contact details provided are not valid or active, the hotel has the right to cancel the reservation.

4. Right of refusal and modification

We reserve the right to refuse a reservation and (in special circumstances) the right to cancel, adjust or change your reservation. If we are forced to cancel, adjust or change the reservation, the guest will be offered an alternative date.

In case of overbooking or in case of force majeure, the hotel reserves the right to accommodate the client in whole or in part in a hotel of the same category that offers services of the same type. All additional accommodation and transport costs between the two hotels concerned shall be borne by the hotel originally booked.

Hotel Marina is not responsible for non-fulfillment of its obligations due to force majeure. Examples of force majeure and unforeseeable circumstances are those normally recognized as such by French case law and French courts.

5. Tourist tax

The price for accommodation is increased by the amount of the tourist tax, which is determined by a decree of the Municipality of Izola (2,00 € in 2021).

6. Prices

Prices for accommodation include tax (VAT). The price is valid for an individual room, for a selected number of people, on selected dates.

Prices change daily according to supply and demand.

The price of accommodation does not include drinks, food, telephone, laundry and other services.

Special and promotional offers are valid if the stay is not shortened.

Discounts do not add up.

7. Additional services

Any additional services are only available on request and subject to availability. Terms of payment for additional services are listed in section 8. House rules.

8. House rules

To make your stay as pleasant as possible, a ‘commitment to tranquility’ applies in the guest rooms and common areas of the Hotel Marina. As a result of justified complaints from other guests due to excessive noise, the noisy company must leave the hotel immediately and with no refund.

Smoking is not allowed in the Hotel Marina. In the case of smoking (regardless of the substance), a cleaning fee of 500 € per day will be added to your bill.

We place particular pride in offering our guests clean rooms. In the event of major stains or damage to our property, an amount of at least 50 € will be added to the final invoice or, in case of major damage, you will be asked to pay for the full cost of repairing / replacing damaged furniture / building.

Additional costs related to the room, restaurant and other services can be paid during the stay or at check-out.

In case of using additional services (Restaurant, Spa), the services must be paid on the spot (in cash at the reception / restaurant or by credit card).. If the guest wants to pay for the stay and services at check out, it is necessary to provide a valid credit card on arrival, on which we will make a reservation of funds in the amount of € 2,000.00.

9. Parking

Hotel Marina disposes of 24 parking spaces, which cannot be reserved in advance. The price for parking is 8,00 € / day, and from July 1st until September 30th 15,00 € / day.
There are four public parkings nearby:

  • 100 m from the hotel (Veliki trg): parking between 8:00 and 19:00, price € 2.50 / hour.
  • 800 m rom the hotel (parking Lonka): 1 hour free, every additional hour € 2.00. Possibility of parking: 24 hours.
  • 1000 m from the hotel (parking Ladjedelnica, Cankarjev drevored): € 4.00 / 24 hours. You have the option of paying for 2 – 7 or more days ahead.
  • 1000 m from the hotel (parking ARGO): 5,00 € / 24 hours.

10. Loss and damage of guest property

Unfortunately, we cannot be held liable for lost or damaged property or for damages suffered by you or anyone from your company during accommodation on our property.

Money and valuables can be kept in a safe in the room or at the reception.

11. Pets

Pets are only allowed in ECONOMY rooms. The price of the stay is € 20.00 per day / dog (the exception is guide dogs, which stay for free). Prior notice required!

Pets are not allowed in the breakfast room. During lunch or. dinners guests with pets can be located in the smaller dining area or on the terrace (depending on the weather).

12. Complaints

If there are any faults in the room, the guest must immediately inform the reception or the maids and allow the maintenance staff to fix the problem in due course. If the guest does not take this into account, he has no right to change the duration of the accommodation or demand for discounts on the address of the inferior stay.

13. Access and right to enter the room

We reserve the right to enter the room at a reasonable time and for justifiable reasons.

Receptionists, maids and maintenance staff may enter the room for justifiable reasons, in particular for urgent maintenance work and inspection.

14. Gift certificates

The gift voucher can be paid in cash, by credit card or by bank transfer to the company’s current bank account.

Gift certificates are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Employees have the option to extend the gift voucher for an additional 6 months. In exceptional cases (injuries, pregnancy…), the gift certificate can be extended for additional 4 months.

Advance service reservation is required. When booking, it is necessary to state the number of the gift certificate, otherwise the service cannot be used.

In the event the customer does not come to the service and does not cancel the reservation, the gift voucher is considered redeemed. For wellness and catering services, the reservation must be canceled at least 24 hours before the agreed date, otherwise the gift voucher is considered redeemed. For overnight stays in the hotel, the reservation must be canceled at least 72 hours before arrival.

Gift certificates can be used once.

15. Intellectual property

The sign, name and logo are the basic elements of the visual identity of the Hotel Marina d.o.o . Their use without the permission of the owner is not allowed.
